New cooperation with the Technical University of Braunschweig: progress in innovative titanium alloys for dental implants
In a promising collaboration with the Technical University of Braunschweig, research is currently being carried out into the further development of modern materials for dental implantology.
The focus here is on the biocompatible titanium alloy Ti-36Nb-2Ta-3Zr-0.3O - a third-generation material with particularly favorable mechanical properties: it offers high strength combined with a low modulus of elasticity, which can significantly reduce the risk of bone loss and implant loss.
As part of a joint feasibility study, the alloy, which was previously only of limited use, was processed using a conventional production process for the first time - an important step towards practical application in the implant sector. The aim is to make the material innovation more widely accessible in future and to promote medical progress in the field of dental implants in the long term.
